What to do when London is closed for the day

what to do when London is closed for the dayWhen travelling around London at the weekend you need to do so armed with a plan. A plan that provides you with a variety of options to get you safely from wherever you end up to wherever your final destination happens to be.

It was a chilly Saturday when I left home without a plan and found myself standing in front of a closed station and (un)helpful guards simply saying that no trains are leaving from this station today! That’s it London (Bridge) was closed and I was left to my own devices, which when you don’t usually use public transport is not such a good thing.

But instead of throwing my hands in the air in dismay, I decided to explore my surroundings. Armed with my trusty companion, my iPhone, I went for a walk…

Here are some of my views on my walk along the bank of the Thames against the imposing back drop of Tower Bridge.

It looks like a bean – People and objects
